Pop icon Kylie Minogue has released her latest single Lights Camera Action from her new album Tension II, and it’s already making waves with a scorching remix by Australian electro duo Confidence Man.

The original track, produced by Lewis Thompson and co-written by Minogue and Ina Wroldsen, is a pulsating dance-pop banger. But Confidence Man’s remix takes it to a new level, injecting their signature blend of pounding beats and infectious hooks

Confidence Man, known for their wild live shows and sense of humour, is a perfect match for Kylie’s joyous pop sensibilities. Their remix is sure to be a dancefloor staple in the coming months.

Kylie’s 2025 Tension Tour

The single drop coincides with the announcement of Kylie’s massive 2025 Tension Tour, which will see her play 14 UK arena shows from May to June. Tickets go on general sale today, October 2.

However, Kylie’s UK redates clash directly with the 2025 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which runs from February 14 to March 2. The Mardi Gras Parade, the festival’s centerpiece, is scheduled for Saturday, March 1.

This means that Kylie, a longtime LGBTQIA+ icon and ally, will likely be unable to attend or perform at the Mardi Gras Party, one of the world’s largest LGBTQIA+ celebrations. We will surely feel her absence.

A Bittersweet Celebration

While Kylie’s tour announcement and a new single are cause for celebration, the clash with Mardi Gras is a bittersweet note for her LGBTQIA+ fanbase. Many will have to choose between seeing their idol live and attending the iconic Mardi Gras festivities.

Nonetheless, with the Confidence Man remix of Lights Camera Action ready to set dancefloors ablaze and anticipation building for Tension II, Kylie’s star power shows no signs of dimming. Her queer fans will undoubtedly continue to support and adore her, even if they have to party without her next Mardi Gras season.
