Kit Connor Shows Off A Muscular New Look In Alex Garland’s “Warfare”

Kit Connor in Warfare (A24)

Our Kit Connor is back, and he’s bringing a whole new energy to the screen.

The Heartstopper star has traded in his rugby jersey for something much grittier in the trailer for Alex Garland’s upcoming A24 film, Warfare. At just 20 years old, Connor already has fans buzzing about this dramatic new chapter in his career.

Alex Garland and war veteran Ray Mendoza wrote and directed this film. It’s Connor’s first major film role since he became famous. The 20-year-old actor brings intensity to the screen.

The story comes from Mendoza’s real experiences in Iraq. In the trailer, Connor plays a new soldier checking on his mates. His fellow actors include Charles Melton, Joseph Quinn, Will Poulter, Noah Centineo, and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Mendoza.

This role is quite different from Connor’s current work as Romeo on Broadway. Social media users have noticed his physical change. His training with British powerlifter Nathaniel Massiah helped him build this new look.

Connor told The Hollywood Reporter this role is part of his plan to take on more mature characters. “Heartstopper gave me a platform to try different projects,” he said. “When it gained attention, I started thinking about my next move.”

Some fans still see Connor’s softer side, even in this war film. One social media user said he looks “like a teddy bear threatening other toys.” His role reminds many of Harry Styles in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.

Connor shared an interesting detail with fashion house Loewe. His phone has many “shirtless pictures” of co-star Charles Melton. Perhaps they trained together during filming?
