Jonathan Bailey’s Commitment To Looking Hot Started With One Big Lie
Jonathan Bailey is on a mountain somewhere in Italy, cycling to his best mate’s wedding. But his latest project has us looking a little closer at the man on the bike. In a recent chat with GQ, the actor revealed the story behind his new collaboration with eyewear label Cubitts, and it involves a particularly creative performance from his childhood. It is this kind of commitment that makes him one of our Sexiest Men Alive 2025, featured in the current DNA #308.
So how did his obsession with eyewear begin…
It turns out Bailey has been a fan of wearing glasses for years, even though he does not need them. “I do have 20/20 vision, but I’ve always had a thing for glasses,” he admitted. He wanted a pair so badly that he took matters into his own hands. “I was so desperate to have them that I faked an NHS eye test when I was younger.”
For anyone unfamiliar, the NHS is the United Kingdom’s National Health Service. Bailey called the successful deception “probably my finest performance,” which resulted in him getting his first pair of frames.
jonathan bailey played a prince and a king on stage & in a film BUT he is genuinely a real life prince & king and is also the greenest flag in human form (100%) to ever exist in the world we live & co exist right now.

From a fib to a fashion statement.
This early passion has led to a collaboration with Cubitts, a brand he has worn for a decade. His new hexagonal frames, the Loomis, are named after his character in Jurassic World. These are an update on the glasses he wore in the film, which the internet quickly labelled his “slutty little glasses.” The new design features rose-tinted lenses and a special titanium case lined in pink, a nod to a cause close to his heart.
It is all for a very good cause.
The collaboration supports The Shameless Fund, Bailey’s charity dedicated to making life freer and safer for LGBTQIA+ people. The project is more than just a creative outlet, it is a way to generate real support. He points to a stark statistic to explain the need for such focused initiatives. “Out of every £100 raised in the UK, only 1p goes to the LGBTQIA+ community,” he said. “That’s why this collaboration with Cubitts has been so amazing.

Not only is it fun and creative, it can also make a real difference.” As his watch beeps, he has to get back to pedalling to make the ceremony, leaving us with a final image of him riding off into the sun, with a modest slut drop brewing in his knees.
