The 31-year-old DJ/voguer/ballroom entrepreneur who lives between London and Barcelona is heading to Sydney for Mardi Gras’ Bondi Beach Party promising, “It’s gonna be one to remember!”

You’re a DJ and a voguer who’s appeared in Vogue. Was that a full-circle moment?

I was shocked, but also it made sense. What was full circle was the clothes I was wearing. I said to the stylist I wanted to wear (designer) Saul Nash and it again just felt right. This article marks over ten years’ work I’ve put in to the London ballroom scene, being the pioneer and still doing it via Barcelona. It’s just a confirmation of what I’m supposed to be doing.

How does it feel to be so hot right now?

I don’t know how to answer this “hot right now” to be honest. I’ve always felt all things fall in timing, so being hot right now never crossed my mind. Achieving a feature piece in British Vogue has to be the hot-right-now moment (laughs), but I do love that my Boilerroom.tv has a lot of views and this has got me to play in the amazing Sydney Mardi Gras 2024.

You have your own ballroom house – The House Of Revlon.

The House of Revlon started about 40 years ago. I oversee Europe, South America and other sides of the house. My house father, Vinii Revlon (Paris), is the overall father. This is the house of houses, in my opinion. We live so far, work so hard and support each other.

What’s the tea on your Let’s Have A Kiki event?

Well, it is a party I started to give people from the ballroom scene a space to just be themselves – no voguing, or you don’t have to be special. It’s also for people who are interested to learn, if someone is willing, giving DJs a platform to just play. If you tell me you’re a DJ, I’ll let you play. No need for promo material or the latest mix, just go and do your thing.

Why do you do what you do?

With all the stress, drama, disagreements, and standing up for myself and others, I do it for the next generation. I do it for those who don’t do it for themselves. I do it for the ones who are too scared to go there, the ones that don’t fall into the muscle queen group, the ones that do but want to explore, and the ones that explore and didn’t know they would love it. I do it for the community.

Any plans to make your own music?

With the two production classes I’ve done, one hundred per cent. I want to make and release my own music. To any producers that wanna teach me or work together, I’m open. I’m working on things, but learning from watching others and YouTube. A lot of my sound is what I want to produce.
