“I AM Still A Human”: Hugh Sheridan Reveals They Are Non-Binary And Faces Their Truth

DNA 258’s cover model, Hugh Sheridan, has revealed that they are non-binary and wishes to avoid labels. The actor is engaged to another one of DNA’s cover models, Kurt Roberts, and in a post promoting our latest issue wrote that they don’t like the “limitations, restrictions and separation” that labels bring.
Sheridan wrote, “I AM still a human (non-binary/bi/me/Hughman) but I’m in a monogamous relationship with another human, who I love. I don’t accept a label cause it limits me… if you want it; take it.” Sheridan got engaged to their boyfriend in March last year during their performance at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Amid the revelation that Sheridan no longer identifies with gender labels, they have had to fight back against naysayers accusing them of coming out as non-binary as a “publicity stunt”. Sheridan has called for people to consider them a human being and to educate themselves on non-binary individuals before commenting.
The Australian actor encourages their followers to embrace their identities. Whether that be with or without labels. “Why choose?!! Be you. Be true. Be free: to BE, to JUST BE… you, a human, same as me,” says Sheridan.
