Hot Takes: Sam Salter’s Raw Debut, Troye Sivan’s Lap Dance, And Vinnie Hacker’s Surprise Appearance
Sam Salter, a 30-year-old dancer, is taking on a new role. He’s set to star in I Need You To See Me, a short film. Salter plays a dance teacher in a complex relationship with a student. It’s a story not often told in queer cinema.
“It shows the confusion and dark moments of growing up queer,” Salter posted on his IG.
Salter has danced in big shows like West Side Story and Wicked. Now, he’s using his dance and teaching experience in this film role.
On social media, Salter is open about his life. He’s shared his coming out story and his five-year sobriety journey. He hopes for a time when coming out isn’t needed.
“If I feel deprived from not drinking, I remind myself I can do anything – just not drink,” Salter told Chromatica magazine.
While Salter prepares for his film debut, pop star Troye Sivan is making news on tour. At a recent LA show, Sivan brought TikTok star Vinnie Hacker on stage. Sivan gave Hacker a lap dance during his song One Of Your Girls. The crowd loved it.
Hacker, 22, is a model with millions of followers. Some fans wanted bigger stars, like the previous night’s guests Kesha and Tate McCrae. Hacker responded on X: “Sorry you didn’t get a better guest, but I tried my hardest. It was fun and the crowd was amazing :)”
This wasn’t Sivan and Hacker’s first interaction. They’ve shared playful videos on TikTok before.
From Salter’s powerful film to Sivan’s stage antics with Hacker, these LGBTQIA+ stars are pushing boundaries. They’re showing that LGBTQIA+ stories and performers can take center stage in film, music, and social media.
