British actor Max Parker continues to take on exciting roles while preparing for his upcoming marriage to former Emmerdale colleague Kris Mochrie.

You might know Max Parker from his time stirring things up on a certain beloved British soap. Or maybe you caught him flexing in space recently. With a growing list of intriguing roles and exciting personal news, Max Parker is definitely keeping our attention. Let’s get familiar with the man bringing talent and impressive arms to screens big and small.

From The Yorkshire Dales To New Adventures

Many fans first met Max Parker during his impactful run on the very popular, long-running UK soap Emmerdale. He played Luke Posner in over 70 episodes across two years. His character even had a significant storyline exploring his sexuality, adding depth to the drama in “the Dales”. It was a role that made Parker a familiar face across Britain.

However, Emmerdale wasn’t just about the drama onscreen. It’s also where Max met his now fiancé, Kris Mochrie. Yes, the actor who played his onscreen brother! Sometimes life really does write the best scripts. After his time on the soap concluded, Parker sought fresh opportunities to stretch his acting muscles, both literally and figuratively.

Building An Impressive Resume

Since leaving the village, Max Parker hasn’t slowed down. He appeared in the fantasy series The Vampire Academy and starred alongside Elizabeth Hurley in Strictly Confidential, a film directed by her son Damian Hurley that made headlines. Parker even tackled history, playing a notably very hot Henry VIII in a series about Anne Boleyn for Netflix, Blood, Sex And Royalty.

A Quick Trip In The TARDIS

Parker also stepped into another iconic British universe with a guest role in Doctor Who. Appearing alongside Ncuti Gatwa’s charismatic Doctor in an episode during the 2024 season helmed by Russell T Davies, Parker played Manny. He described Manny as a “stubborn hero” who “loves a vest.” Judging by the photos released showing off Parker’s physique, we can see why the costume choice worked.

The episode involved robots and rescues on a distant planet. While specific details about Manny were kept under wraps, his appearance added another talented actor to the show’s increasingly diverse cast list.

Given the Doctor Who universe’s connections with the LGBTQIA+ community, and a previous landmark kiss between the Doctor and Jonathan Groff’s character Rogue, fans were certainly watching Manny closely. Parker brought memorable muscle and presence to his part in the sci-fi saga.

Reporting For Duty And Personal Plans

What’s next for Max Parker professionally? He is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series The Corps. This adaptation of Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine takes place in 1990. It follows Cameron, played by Miles Heizer (13 Reasons Why), a young gay man who enlists in the Marines before the era of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. Parker plays Sgt Sullivan, a decorated Marine with his own secrets who tries to guide Cameron. It sounds like a powerful story, and no doubt Parker’s physical presence will be commanding in the role.

Perhaps Parker’s most exciting upcoming role though? Husband. He and Kris Mochrie confirmed their relationship back in 2020. A few years later, they announced their engagement. Parker shared the happy news beautifully on social media, writing, “He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise him my heart. HE SAID YES.”

While they have enjoyed a longer engagement, Kris Mochrie hinted at their upcoming nuptials last year. An Instagram story post apparently noted “365 days to go” alongside a ring emoji. This points to a wedding date set for August this year. That’s just around the corner!

We certainly look forward to seeing Max Parker tackle more interesting characters on screen. At DNA, we wish Max and Kris all the best for their big day this August. We’ll be keeping an eye out for those wedding photos!
