George Santos Hates Curtis Sliwa, His “Dumb” Wife, His “Stupid” Beret And His “Fking” Cats!
Recently released from prison thanks to a Trump pardon, former gay Republican and convicted fraudster George Santos lashed out at the Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa with a profanity-laced post that dragged Sliwa’s wife, his trademark red beret, and their cats.
The post read, “Fk you @CurtisSliwa I HATE YOU, your dumb wife, that stupid Beret of yours and all your fking cats!”

Where this sits in the election story.
Zohran Mamdani, 34, won the New York City mayoral race this week, defeating Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa. The result was decisive and historic, with multiple outlets projecting Mamdani as the winner and reporting record turnout.
Who Curtis Sliwa is and why the beret matters.
Sliwa is a longtime radio host and the founder of the Guardian Angels, known for their red berets and volunteer patrols. He finished with 7.1% of the vote, far behind Mamdani and Cuomo.
What the numbers actually show.
Even if every Sliwa vote had shifted to Cuomo, Mamdani would still have held the lead based on reported totals. That undercuts claims that Sliwa alone “spoiled” the race.
Santos’s post echoed a wider effort from national Republicans to push conservatives toward Cuomo in the closing days. Trump publicly backed Cuomo, and senior aide Stephen Miller told voters that supporting Sliwa was “just throwing your vote away.”
How Santos ended up back online.
Santos was expelled from Congress in 2023 and later pleaded guilty to fraud and identity-theft charges. President Trump commuted his more than seven-year federal sentence in October, prompting Santos’s early release before this week’s outburst.

What Mamdani promised next.
On the trail, Mamdani pledged a focus on affordability and civil rights, including protections for LGBTQIA+ people and transgender New Yorkers. He takes office on 1 January 2026.
