Regular readers know that entertainment is a big part of our editorial mix, and every month our columnists review music, theatre and binge-worthy shows and films. And this issue, we’re getting to know some of the performers a little better.

Our cover star is Thomas Worrell. He’s an aerialist whose specialty is the hoop and he performs with Briefs and other circus or burlesque troupes. He’s often suspended precariously above the stage, spinning at great speed, and making incredible shapes with his body.

I’ve seen him perform a few times, and I have been keen to get him in front of a camera for DNA. What he does takes incredible strength, flexibility and stamina. Most of us could not imagine the core strength required to lift and contort as he does in his act. Because he’s constantly working and touring, I knew his body would be in peak condition. However, because he is much in demand, it was also hard to find time in his schedule for a shoot.

But we have done it. Photographer Christian Scott built a stage in his studio, complete with sparkling gold curtains and a hoop! This is Thomas’ natural environment. At first it was hard to get the hoop to stop moving so we could get the shot. Eventually we worked out ways to keep it still. But Christian also shot heaps of images as it slowly rotated, so the editing process involved finding the best of those.

On the cover, Thomas is wearing Rufskin swimwear and ThePack in the shots in the feature. With their fetish-inspired harnesses and jockstraps, garters and lingerie ranges, ThePack is perfect for this shoot, having a natural burlesque feel – or should we say boy-lesque! Thomas chose to keep some of the gear for on-stage. And some for at home!

Other entertainers this month are singers Greg Gould, Kate DeAraugo, Adam Noviello and Drag Race star Kween Kong. They’ve teamed up for a collab on the song No More, inspired by the murder of Sydney gay couple, Luke Davies and Jesse Baird.

Our Straight Mate is sexy Alex Kaan, and we look forward to seeing him podium dancing in Last King Of The Cross. We chat with dynamic Aussie pop duo Confidence Man who have trouble keeping their clothes on. And I had a giggle with comedian AJ Lamarque – we played murder, marry or fuck!

Porn keeps many entertained, and there is something for every taste. But have you ever wondered why twink porn is more popular in Russia? Or why some lesbians enjoy watching gay male porn? Or why one in five straight men also watch gay porn? We’ve taken a deep dive into the subject to get to the bottom of it. What we have discovered is fascinating.

Plus, we have an exclusive with international fashion photographer Jez Smith. In a story called Hot And Bothered, we are taken into a seedy public toilet block with model Bruno.
