We still have plenty to celebrate.
There’s not a lot of good news coming out of the US. Republicans in Idaho want the Supreme Court to reverse their 2015 decision on same-sex marriage and allow Idaho to ban it again! A health insurance company in Texas is also off to the Supreme Court to claim that covering PrEP goes against their “religious beliefs” because it “encourages homosexual behaviour”. Meta, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger and WhatsApp, has decided it’s okay for LGBTQIA+ people to be described as mentally ill on their platforms. And Trump plans to reinstate and expand the ban on trans personnel serving in the military.
DNA, I’m pleased to say, is bucking that unhappy trend. We are always a celebration of gay people and culture, but this issue is particularly riotous!

We’ve got Reuben Kaye camping it up in Jesus Christ Superstar, Lil Nas X getting jiggy on the back seat with a hot chum, and sexy New York men raising their blood sugar level (and our blood pressure) with sensual nude/cake portraits.
In our latest Conversation With The Elders, 90-year-old Les Peterkin reminds us to “Get on with it and enjoy yourself,” while another generation, pop stars On Mekahel and Stewart Taylor, get shirtless for our entertainment.

Travel writer Robert La Bua takes us to Rio de Janeiro (for the beach) and Sao Paulo (for the art and culture). Photographer Stas Vokman and three loved-up models share a romantic and raunchy Summer Fling.
Even our Straight Mate this month, The Bold And The Beautiful’s dreamy Scott Clifton thinks they should kill off his straight character and bring him back as his gay identical twin. We’d buy that!

But when it comes to celebrating LGBTQIA+ pride, nothing beats WorldPride, and this year, the massive global event is hosted by none other than Washington, DC, now the official residence of The Great Orange One.
Washington, DC is one of my favourite US cities, combining history and arts with a vibrant party scene no matter who is in the White House. We may not survive the Trumpster Fire that’s coming so, if you can, get to DC and party like it’s, er, 1979! A big, brash, loud, colourful, disrespectful queer fiesta right on the Republican’s doorstep is exactly what we need this year!
Be loud, be proud, be heard.
