Dixon Dallas Is Back With More Gay Country Bops!
Our readers may recognise the name Dixon Dallas from a story we wrote about his breakout songs Like Whiskey and Good Lookin‘. Both songs blew up online and it was the lyrics that caught our attention.
In both songs, Dixon sings about falling for guys and having passionate sex with them. Although we can’t confirm whether he’s gay or not, his music certainly appeals to LGBTQIA+ audiences. On Tuesday, August 15, Dixon Dallas released Better Without You and F150; more men-loving-men bops for us to enjoy!
“He’s bouncing off my booty cheeks…”
Sonically, Dixon’s music is traditional country but lyrically, it is 100% gay pop. The country music genre is not a traditionally welcoming space for the LGBTQIA+ community, but that has a lot to do with the fanbase that it attracts. Musicians like Kasey Musgraves, Orville Peck and Brothers Osborne are reforming the way queerness is handled in the scene, but that’s nothing compared to what Dixon Dallas is doing.
Announcing his new tracks on Instagram, he says, “I just dropped two new songs that I suggest you go check out. Because if you don’t, I’m gonna come to your house, and I will do unspeakable things.” Considering the lyrics on his song Good Lookin‘ are: “He’s bouncing off my booty cheeks I love the way he rides. I can barely breathe when he’s pumping deep inside,” we can imagine what “unspeakable” things he’s referring to.
F150 is a song about getting it on in the back of a Ford pickup truck. Better Without You is a breakup song, a staple in any country musician’s repertoire. The online response to Dixon’s growing fame and notoriety has been generally positive with some TikTok users filming reaction videos to his catchy and contentious lyrics.
