Why do we get the feeling this former Savage Gardener has been waiting all his life to release an album called Homosexual? For his first solo album in over a decade, and fifth overall, Daz is unashamedly and unapologetically gay and we’re here for it!
From Donna Summer-meets-The Weeknd album opener, Let’s Try Being In Love, to joyful second single All You Pretty Things, which pays tribute to gay icons of the past, this is proof that gay men in their fifties can be vital, exciting, sexy beings, too.
The title track even comes in two funky ’80s parts as well (“It’s not correctable/It’s homosexual”), while the entire album, completely written/produced by Darren, is an audio revelation from its button-pushing lyrics to a musical landscape shapeshifting between disco, techno, electro and retro.
