Erasure Tribute With Andy Bell’s Blessing For Conleth Kane’s “Erasure-esque” EP
Independent artist Conleth Kane has released Erasure-esque, an EP paying tribute to Erasure on the synth-pop duo’s 40th anniversary. It is a project made with genuine care, and Erasure’s lead singer Andy Bell has made his support for it very public.

Bell backed the release in the official Erasure newsletter in February. For an artist who grew up with Erasure as his soundtrack, that kind of acknowledgement carries real weight. Conleth came of age in a deeply conservative Northern Ireland during the 1990s, when the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) government was openly hostile to LGBTQIA+ people. The music of Andy Bell and Vince Clarke was, by his own account, a lifeline.

The production team behind it
Erasure-esque was produced by 7th Heaven, known for the official remix of Cher’s Believe, and mastered by 360 Mastering, the studio behind Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam. The credentials fit the project.
Two videos out now
The first single, Oh L’Amour, has a video out now. Watch it below.
The second, Sometimes, is also out now. It features guest vocals from Ava Lily, who toured with Louis Tomlinson on his 2023 Faith in the Future World Tour. Watch it below.
A sold-out launch and the story behind it
The EP launch party at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in London sold out. One of the most storied venues in the city’s LGBTQIA+ scene, the choice of location felt entirely deliberate.

Conleth has been open about what this project means to him. “Erasure not only influenced me musically as an artist, but also as a young gay person growing up in an incredibly conservative Northern Ireland in the 1990s,” he said. “They really were the soundtrack to my childhood.”
