Congratulations! Lukas Gage And Chris Appleton Are An Item, With No Love For Gossip Blogger Perez Hilton!
Actor Lukas Gage has made headlines after going a round on Twitter with gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Hilton had written a piece speculating on a possible relationship between Gage and celebrity stylist Chris Appleton. The piece was written in Hilton’s usual tone which may best be described as “snarky”.
Gage replied, “Somebody needs to tell this dude that nobody has read his blog since 2009! details HERE,” reports Q News.

Gage is known for his roles in popular TV series like You, The White Lotus and Euphoria; each series being iconic in its own right. Since his appearance on the latest season of You, it appears that Gage’s star is on the rise and there’s interest in his relationship status.
Although previously Gage hadn’t publicly labelled his sexuality, many speculated that he is dating Chris Appleton after the two were seen holidaying together in Mexico. In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, celebrity hairstylist Appleton confirmed his relationship with Gage and says, “I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special. Love is a really special thing, and I think meeting someone you connect with is really, really special,” reports Vanity Fair.
Speaking to The New York Times about his sexuality, Gage made it clear that the way you identify is a deeply personal journey that doesn’t need to be publicised before you’re ready.
“I’m a pretty open book about most things in my life. But I have a problem with the culture of everyone needing to know everybody’s business and nothing can be sacred,” he says. “It’s a weird line that I’m still trying to figure out.”
Hilton, who rose to fame in the early 2000s as a celebrity gossip blogger, has faced criticism in the past for his controversial and often hurtful remarks. Hilton aimed his sights at Gage when he tweeted saying, “Somebody needs to tell this dude he’s not as famous as he thinks he is! All the #LukasGage details HERE.”
Gage is clearly not one to let sleeping dogs lie and delivered a brutal but brief clapback. “Somebody needs to tell this dude that nobody has read his blog since 2009! details HERE,” wrote the actor. Perez Hilton is in no short supply of critics with many jumping to defend Gage.

The incident highlights the ongoing need for greater understanding and respect for young actors, especially those who may be part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Learning a lesson from the case of Kit Connor, the young Heartstopper star who was pressured to come out before he was ready, it’s safe to assume that celebrities are owed the same right to communicate their identity when (and/or if) they feel safe to.
