Colton Underwood And Husband Announce They’re Expecting A Baby On Instagram
Colton Underwood, the former lead of The Bachelor’s 23rd season, and his husband Jordan C Brown took to Instagram to share the exciting news that they are expecting a baby. The couple, who got married in 2022, posted a heartwarming photo of themselves holding up a sonogram image, captioning it “Our little boy is coming this fall”.
Underwood, a former NFL player, made headlines in 2021 when he came out as gay in an emotional interview with Good Morning America. He later starred in the Netflix docuseries Coming Out Colton, which chronicled his journey of self-discovery and acceptance.
In an interview with Men’s Health, the couple expressed their joy and anticipation for the arrival of their first child. “That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads,” says Underwood. “But it’s been such an incredible experience for us to go through this together, and I cannot wait to watch Jordan become a dad.” Underwood shared.
In an earlier interview with People in February, Underwood opened up about their path to parenthood. He shared that they had embryos made and frozen while undergoing testing with their surrogate, whose identity remains private.
Underwood also discussed the challenges that both straight and LGBTQIA+ couples face when trying to start a family, his own fertility struggles, and revealing that his “sperm was not good” while Brown’s was “perfect”. This led Underwood to question his ability to become a father. However, he emphasised the importance of men acknowledging their role in the process and not placing blame solely on women.
The couple’s love story began in April 2021 when they met at a party in Los Angeles. Brown, who served as an advisor for former President Barack Obama and later for former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, quickly formed a strong connection with Underwood.
Their relationship progressed naturally, and they got engaged in February 2022 in the picturesque setting of Big Sur, California.
