“I’m a graphic designer for a sports apparel company and a signed model to a Toronto agency,” says model Basil Hendy. “I go to the gym 5-6 days a week. It’s a very important part of my day, and especially being part of the modelling industry. Also very therapeutic after a long hard day at work.
“Aside from fitness and modelling, I’m a Fine Arts University graduate and accomplished artist, who specializes in painting and charcoal drawings. I have this obsession with the human form when it comes to my work,” he says. “The human form has a great way of telling a story. From the look of the eyes, parting of the lips, roundness of a cheek or a flex of a muscle, can certainly evoke beauty, strength and sexual expression. Perhaps these are attributes I bring when I’m the one in front of the camera.”
