Aussie Comedian Nath Valvo Ties The Knot With Long-Term Partner Cody

Australian comedian Nath Valvo is best-known for his quick-wit, sardonic hot-takes and fast paced comedic style. Nath has been involved with his long-term partner Cody for nine years and on January 8, the funnyman announced their marriage with an adorable Instagram post, reports QNews.

Nath Valvo is known for his sarcastic, rapid-fire comedic style. He was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe and Best Show for I’m Happy For You at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Nath often mentions his partner Cody in his sets. “Great guy, terrible name,” he once quipped. In the classic Valvo routine posted below, he discusses Cody’s trip to the Gold Coast to complete in a triathlon.
Speaking to The Project, Nath says the proposal defied Hollywood expectations; there were no doves, no rain and no poetry but it was special all the same.
“Cody proposed to me in the kitchen while making rissoles – I’m going to tear up! He was making his rissoles for the week because he’s a nerd alert. He was mid-rissole in the kitchen. It was Sunday afternoon. He asked me while cooking.
“No ring or anything, because he knows I’m very picky and I need to choose things. I’m a bit of a control freak, and so I get to choose the ring eventually. So Kmart, here I come!”
The couple wed last week after 16 years of knowing each other and nine of those years being together. According to QNews, Nath wasn’t sure which traditions to follow, being two gay men.
“I’m going okay, but because we’re two men we don’t know what to actually do at the wedding,” he says. “What traditions do we do? I’m very confused. We don’t even know whose family should pay for it. I’m guessing the top’s.”
