#ALLABOARD! Melbourne’s Yarra Trams Seeking New Design For Pride Tram 2023
FEATURED: Yarra Trams Pride Tram 2023 | Vote
For three consecutive years, the team at Yarra Trams in Melbourne have wrapped inner-city trams in rainbow colours for Pride as part of their #AllAboard campaign. This year, in collaboration with Midsumma, JOY Media, and the Department of Transport, the new design has been put in the hands of local LGBTQIA+ artists and Yarra Trams would love the decision to be made by the community.
THE PRIDE TRAM WILL BE FEATURED IN THE MIDSUMMA PRIDE MARCH
Out of the submissions sent in, five designs have been chosen and the winning design will be wrapped on a D-class tram in December 2022 and be featured during the Midsumma Pride March in St Kilda in February.

The winning artist will be awarded $5,000 for their artwork, while the second-placed artist will take home $3,000 for the artwork that will be featured on the tram shelter. Of the five designs available for the public to vote on, each is inspired by the message of acceptance, inclusion and pride. Although these designs are different and represent these values in unique ways, they all demonstrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Yarra Trams Chief Executive Officer, Julien Dehornoy says, “I’m delighted with the five tram designs my fellow judges and I have put to Victoria for their final judgement.
“Whichever design ends up winning the public vote, I’ll be incredibly proud to have it travelling through Melbourne in 2023 as an important symbol of diversity and inclusion on our network.”
Visit the Yarra Trams website to vote now for a design. Voting will conclude October, 21 2022.
