Firefighter-Turned-Adult-Superstar Dale Savage Passes Away At 62
The gay adult film world has lost one of its most likeable late bloomers. Dale Savage, the pansexual performer fans knew as a “muscle daddy” has died at 62.
His fiancé, photographer Anthony Duran, broke the news on X on Friday 3 July. Savage died on 19 June after a stroke. “It is with a heavy heart that I let all of his fans know that adult film star The Dale Savage passed away from a stroke,” Duran wrote.

A Superstar Who Started At 50
Savage came to the industry later than most, and that was part of the appeal. He worked as a firefighter before he ever stepped in front of a camera, starting his adult career at 50. “As a handsome, pansexual muscle daddy, Dale started his career at 50 years old,” Duran wrote. “He quickly rose to become a true superstar in the industry. He absolutely loved his work and collaborated with some of the top studios and actors.”
His work earned a nomination for Best Release at the 2023 XRCO Awards.
About three years ago, Savage retired to a quieter life in Vail, Colorado. He kept posting warm, smiling selfies that his followers loved just as much as his earlier work.

Tributes For A “Sweetheart”
The messages came in fast. Studio BluStuds wrote: “We had the honour of working with Dale Savage, and his talent, warmth will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Dale.”
Activist and drag performer Sister Roma called him “a sweetheart,” adding: “Sending hugs and love to all who mourn him.”
Fans who had met him kept describing the same man: kind, hard-working, and happy to make other people happy.
Duran ended his tribute the way partners do when words run short. “Love never dies,” he wrote. “Until we meet again.”
