A cruise holiday turned into a life-saving mission when a VACAYA-chartered ship rescued 11 refugees stranded in the Gulf of Mexico. The refugees, adrift between Cuba and Mexico on a small, unstable vessel, were spotted by Brilliance of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship hosting the LGBTQIA+ vacation company. The refugees were found in a dire situation, with their vessel at the mercy of the open sea. Swift action was taken as a bright yellow rescue boat shuttled between the refugee vessel and the towering cruise liner, carefully transporting the stranded individuals onboard. Once aboard, the refugees were immediately given medical attention, warm clothing, food, and water. The Royal Caribbean crew acted quickly to address their needs, ensuring their safety and comfort.
