Lee Je-hoon is a celebrated South Korean actor renowned for his versatility and dynamism. Known for his captivating performances in both queer roles like Just Friends? and alpha-male portrayals in Bleak Night, Lee’s career showcases his exceptional range and depth as an actor. His physique (although he could show more skin on IG!), passion, and talent make him a standout in the industry.

Lee launched his career in indie films after deciding to drop out of his Biotechnology major at Korea University and transfer to the School Of Drama at the Korea National University of Arts. His breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed Bleak Night (2011), which earned him positive reviews and opened doors to commercial films like The Front Line (2011) and Architecture 101 (2012).

After completing his mandatory military service (2012-2014), Lee made a triumphant return to acting. He starred in the period drama Secret Door (2014) and the modern retelling of Phantom Detective (2016). His role in the fantasy crime drama Signal (2016) earned critical and commercial acclaim, cementing his status as a top actor.

Lee’s career continued to flourish with notable performances in various acclaimed roles as an actor, director, and writer. His latest film, Escape, was sold to 163 overseas markets worldwide including Australia. In this action-packed film, he plays a North Korean army sergeant defecting to the South, pursued by a ruthless major, played by Koo Kyo-Hwan. The film’s promotional materials hint at a cat-and-mouse dynamic, sparking speculation about an underlying romantic tension.

Lee founded his agency, Company On, in 2021 and continues to connect with fans through meetings and appearances. He has also shown a commitment to philanthropy, donating significant sums to disaster relief efforts and educational funds.
