Austin Butler Stuns As Biker Heartthrob In “The Bikeriders”

Austin Butler in The Bikeriders (20th Century Studios)

“His portrayal of Benny in the 1960s Chicago motorcycle gang drama is a masterclass in charisma and impeccable hair.”

According to Polygon, Austin Butler has once again proven his acting chops and undeniable star power in the new film The Bikeriders. Fresh off his Oscar-nominated performance as Elvis Presley in Elvis, Butler takes on the role of Benny, a brooding yet captivating member of the Vandals, a Chicago motorcycle club in the 1960s.

With his artfully tousled blonde locks, scruffy goatee, and layers of worn denim and leather, Butler embodies the essence of cool. He effortlessly commands the screen, whether he’s leaning against a wall, playing pool, or staring intensely into the distance. But it’s when he bursts into action that his true magnetism shines through.

The Bikeriders is a classic tale of working-class men seeking brotherhood and identity in mid-century America, only to be consumed by corruption and violence. While (Killing Eve‘s) Jodie Comer’s Kathy narrates the story with a spot-on Chicago accent, it’s Butler’s quiet intensity that anchors the film.

Tom Hardy delivers a powerful performance as gang leader Johnny, whose love for Benny is both touching and unsettling. In their scenes together, Butler’s restrained energy and smoldering gaze create a magnetic dynamic that draws the audience in.

“If Elvis left you in any doubt, The Bikeriders seals it: this guy is a movie star, and this is a movie-star performance,” raves Polygon.

With its perfect soundtrack, stunning visuals, and talented ensemble cast, The Bikeriders is a must-see for fans of classic cinema and anyone who appreciates the allure of the silver screen.
