In an exclusive with Heavy, rapper Lil Nas X revealed how much admiration and respect he had for Queen frontman Adam Lambert. In interviews that Lambert has given to Billboard and Attitude, it appears the feeling is mutual.

Speaking to Heavy, Nas says, “I know Adam, we’ve met a couple of times. I did thank him in person, actually. I really appreciate all the love that he’s shown me and I definitely don’t take it for granted. And I appreciate all the doors that him and people like him opened.”
Nas is heralded as the next King Of Pop and he’s built his career without hiding his queerness. Nas believes that if it weren’t for stars like Lambert, his entire platform wouldn’t be possible.
Similarly, Lambert has expressed his admiration for the rising young pop star and how much he’s pushing the boundaries in the music industry. When Lil Nas X kissed his male backup dancer at the BET Awards, Lambert praised the move telling Billboard, “I mean, he’s really giving it to us. I think he is definitely like the gay pop star that is 2021 — he’s bold, he’s controversial, he’s pushing boundaries. That’s what we want our pop stars to do. It’s just taken this long to have it be a gay one.”
Lambert also told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that he’s flattered Nas even knows who he is let alone admires his impact. “That was very flattering that he even knows who I am. I think he’s such a rock star, and so bold and brave, and I love what he’s doing,” gushed the singer.
