Jake Gyllenhaal Throws His Hat In The Ring To Be Our Fave 2023 Daddy
A reimagining of the iconic 1989 classic Road House that starred a young Patrick Swayze is in the works and Jake Gyllenhaal has been cast in the lead role, reports Collider. On March 5 at UFC 285 a ripped Gyllenhaal appeared for weigh-in and then stepped into the octagon to shoot a scene for the upcoming film.
WE LOVE A QUIET COME-BACK
Gyllenhaal recently had a bout of unfortunate press when Taylor Swift’s newly released 10-minute version of All Too Well hit the Twittersphere with many being reminded that the song contains details of the couple’s brief relationship. Since then, Gyllenhaal has remained relatively out of the public eye and worked behind the scenes on projects, with Road House being the latest role he has taken on.
What took many aback was how great Gyllenhaal looks for 42; when he attended the UFC weigh-in and shot the fight scenes he looks to be in the best shape of his career and many admired his physique. He’s the 2023 daddy we never saw coming.
Gyllenhaal will be joined in Road House by UFC champion Conor McGregor as well as Jay Hieron, Daniela Melchoir and Billy Magnussen. Road House won’t be Gyllenhaal’s first foray into the world of professional fighting; in 2015 the actor played Billy “The Great”‘ Hope in Southpaw, reports Collider. Much like then, Gyllenhaal has had to work out extensively to prepare for the role and that hard work is paying off (judging by the online buzz following Sunday’s shoot we aren’t alone in that opinion).
