Warwick Rowers Calendar Banned From Russia

This really should come as no surprise, Russian authorities have blocked the annual Warwick Rowers calendar under anti gay propaganda laws, as the countries customs officials have rejected attempts by the campaign to ship calendars bought online to their Russian customers.
Russian officials have not specified the exact reason for the ban, whether it be the naked male photography or that money raised from the sale of the calendar are given to Sport Allies, an LGBTI charity that tackles homophobia in sport.
It is reported that 23 calendars had been shipped to Russia out of which six had already been returned.
Speaking to the UK’s Independent producer of Warwick Rowers and the chairman of Sport Allies, Angus Malcolm explained:
“If there is a problem (with the product) it is usually stopped by British customs officials.
“So if there is something on the Russian side it has to be something to do with the content.”
