Trump’s Transgender Military Ban On Hold

As of January 1, Transgender people are able to enlistment to serve in the US military after the Justice Department announced Trump’s ban is now on hold.
In July of 2017, President Trump tweeted that the United States “will not accept or allow … Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity” in the U.S. military.
Trump also cited “tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”
In December of 2017, two federal courts ruled against the administration, forcing the Pentagon to start enlisting transgender service members.
