Trump Administration Announces Campaign To Decriminalise Homosexuality Across The Globe

This will come as a shock!

The Trump administration has announced a plan to end the criminalisation of homosexuality across the globe.

NBC reports that White House administration officials, led by openly gay US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell, will begin talks with LGBT activists in Berlin this week.

The decriminalisation efforts will be mostly concentrated in the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean, where it is still illegal to be gay.

“It is concerning that, in the 21st century, some 70 countries continue to have laws that criminalise LGBTI status or conduct,” said a U.S. official involved in organising the event.

While commendable, the Trump administration has been met with some criticism of his treatment of the LGBTI community in the US, in particular, the push to ban transgender individuals from service “in any capacity” in the US military.
