Top US Navy Sailor “Honoured” To Serve With Transgender Troops

Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Steven Giordano | Stars And Stripes

US Military website Stars and Stripes has published comments from the Navy’s top enlisted sailor, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Steven Giordano speaking in favour of serving alongside transgender service people:

“We are honoured and blessed to have you on our team, and you will continue to have my support,” he said. “We treat all sailors with dignity and respect, we treat all sailors fair and equitable.”

His comments echo similar comments from the Army’s top enlisted soldier made to Pentagon reporters in early April.

“We haven’t heard any issues or concerns, and I personally have not had any issues or concerns,” Sergeant Major of the Army Daniel Dailey said of transgender soldiers.

The comment comes as the Trump administration is trying to push its second attempt to ban transgender people from serving in the Military
