Tim Minchin: I Still Call Australia Home-ophobic

Comedian and songwriter, Tim Minchin has captured the feelings of most Australians in this beautiful parody of the Peter Allen classic ‘I Still Call Australia Home-ophobic’.

Posted to his Facebook page, the UK-based Australian called it “a heartfelt song to my homeland, recorded last night on my iPhone. With love.”

“I think the proposed plebiscite on marriage equality is noxious and obnoxious,” Minchin writes at the end of the song.

“Polls show that Aussies are overwhelmingly in favour of marriage equality. (Not that it should matter… It’s not f***ing X-Factor). But if the horrid thing should go ahead, let’s drown the moves in ‘yes’ votes!!”

Thanks, Tim you bloody legend!
