The calming benefits of nature in your hand

Serenascent is a combination of the most effective plant derived aromas reducing the impact of chronic stress on the body and mind. This unique combination creates a calming, relaxing and serene atmosphere.

Biomedical and pharmacology scientists at the Universities of Queensland and Sydney worked for 8 years to develop Serena Scent. It has a clean distinctive aroma of freshly cut green grass or green apples. The aroma has a refreshing and cooling effect with the benefits lasting up to 7 hours. Regular exposure to Serenascent has a cumulative effect keeping you calmer for longer. Animals have also shown a calmer state after exposure to Serena Scent.

THE SERENASCENT ETHOS

For many centuries natural aromas have been used to promote meditation and worship in many different religions. Despite strong anecdotal evidence, very little scientific examination has been conducted to dispute or validate such claims.

Neuro Aroma Laboratories are systematically examining some of these scents. Their mission is to scientifically test natural aromas that are thought to be beneficial to good health. Serenascent is their first product that has been brought to market.

Serenascent is safe for use around all age groups. It can be sprayed on clothing, used as a room or pillow spray and is ideal to use with our Petite Aroma Diffuser.

How did Yosemite National Park inspire the concept?

in 1987 Dr Nick Lavidis walked into the deep valley of Yosemite National Park and was immediately impressed by its beauty and serene atmosphere. A short 3 day stay at the park felt like a 3 month holiday! The restful and serene atmosphere made a long lasting impression on Dr Lavidis which motivated him to revisit the park many times.

The connection between the plant aroma of the park and relaxation was not immediate but triggered many years later when Dr Lavidis was mowing his lawn. Dr Lavidis reminisced over Yosemite and while emptying the grass catcher his neighbour commented on how the smell of grass clippings makes him feel relaxed.

Thus the question arose, are there chemicals in cut grass, pine and sequoia trees that stimulate relaxation?

How does Serenascent affect the brain?

Serenascent stimulates smell nerve cells which send signals to two parts of the brain – the emotional (limbic system) and the smell identification area (cortex) of the brain. After spraying Serenascent, you first notice the distinctive green fresh aroma which lasts between 10 to 30 minutes. However, experiments have shown that the aroma continues to stimulate the emotional part of the brain producing a calm and serene state even though consciously, the smell is undetected by the cortex.

Take care when spraying to keep out of eyes.
