Survey Says: Grindr Makes You Unhappy

This may come as a surprise, according to a new survey by tech website Time Well Spent, mobile app Grindr was rated the higest on their ‘unhappy’ list.

200,000 iPhone users where polled of  their app usage in an effort to discover which apps made people feel happy or unhappy

77% of Grindr users reporting feeling regret after using the hookup app.

According to the researchers: “On average, comparing between ‘Happy’ and ‘Unhappy’ amounts of usage of the same apps, their ’unhappy’ amount is 2.4 times the amount of ’happy time,’”

People who used Facebook 22 minutes a day, for example, reported they were happy with the experience. But those who used Facebook for 59 minutes were unhappy, a trend that held true for Candy Crush, Reddit, and Instagram.

Other apps that made people feel ‘unhappy’ include Candy Crush Saga (71%), Facebook (64%), Reddit (58%) and Tinder (56%).
