Study Reveals That Facebook Can Guess If You Are Gay

A new study from the researchers at the Columbia Business School, Northeastern University and New York University have revealed that social media platform Facebook can determine a users sexuality and personality traits such as whether a person is ‘gullible, introverted, political beliefs, religious beliefs, IQ, and even if a person is a drug user by analysing as few as just three pages a person has liked

The study also claimed people who liked pages about Lady Gaga, the Human Rights Campaign, Harry Potter and the television show True Blood was likely to be identified as gay.

This information is then used by advertisers to target their promotions to their audiences.

We can only imagine what sort of advertising you see in your feed for liking this page!
