Sir Elton John Announces Retirement

Sir Elton John has announced that he will retire from touring after his upcoming three-year global tour ending nearly 50 years of touring.

During a news conference in New York, the 70-year-old singer explained that his priorities have changed after becoming a parent to two children with his husband David Furnish.

“I love them so much. I don’t want to miss them and I don’t want them to miss me,” he said.

“My priorities now are my children and my husband and my family.

“This is the end.”

He added that he has “had a good run” and said he wanted to “leave people thinking, ‘I saw the last tour and it was fantastic’.”
