Grindr Adds “Woman” Option To Gender Profile Selection

You read correct, popular gay male ‘hook-up’ app Grindr is changing its platform to be more inclusive of transgender people and women.

The app traditionally aimed at gay men will now allow users to add new gender identities to their profiles including ‘Woman’, ‘Cis Woman’ ‘Trans Woman’ along with several non-binary options. On top of this, the update includes gender-specific pronouns a user can set for their profile.

The app has included a ‘Transgender’ category, however, by allowing ‘Women’ in particular ‘Cisgender Women’ (a person who identifies and gender corresponds with their birth sex) Grindr will become interesting to navigate for its users as this marks the end of the app’s men-only stance.
