As we come into calendar season at DNA we’re featuring the work of some of our favourite photographer’s 2018 calendar.
John Bortolin’s Manscapes 2018 calendar beautifully captures the real Australian essence in his all-nude, 14-month calendar. We can’t show you the beautiful and artistic nude photography (you’ll have to buy the calendar for that) our feature model is Anthony Thompson, one of the models from the calendar.
Anthony will also appear at John’s upcoming Manscapes exhibition that will feature the beautiful landscapes and male nude photography John is globally recognised for.
The exhibition will raise awareness of men’s mental health in conjunction with Brisbane based charity A Chance For Change, who work to raise awareness of men’s mental health and building support for men in need.
DNA spoke with John about his photography:
“I’m drawn to the beauty of the landscape around Byron Bay, and decided to combine it with the power and vulnerability of the male form,” he said.
“Over 25 men had the courage to reveal themselves to my camera lens, including farmers, tradesmen, uni students and personal trainers.
“These are ordinary guys who hadn’t been professionally photographed before,” John said.
You can purchase your own copy the Manscapes 2018 calendar from www.manscapes.com.au
For those in Queensland, Australia. The Manscapes exhibition if from 4pm, Saturday 21st October at the Suzanne O’Connell Gallery and will include live nude art.
