Should Businesses Adopt Gender Appropriate Language?

After airline QANTAS staff were advised to avoid ‘gender inappropriate’ terms when speaking with passengers so as not to discriminate against LGBT families. We want to know if you think phrases ‘partner’, ‘spouse’ and ‘parents’ should be used instead of ‘husband’, ‘wife’, ‘mum’ and ‘dad’.
