Bisexual Search Error Fixed On Twitter

Twitter has apologised for a ‘technical issue’ that blocked searches for word ’bisexual’, citing that an ‘Out of date’ list of terms associated with explicit content is to blame for blocking of the search keyword.

“Your search setting could be protecting you from some potentially sensitive content”, the social media platform warned users who searched the term bisexual on Friday causing public outrage and media attention.

Twitter fixed the problem and issued a public apology.

“Late last week, we discovered a technical issue that affected search results: searches for certain words related to sexuality did not populate complete results,” the company said. “We apologise for anyone negatively impacted by this bug. It is not consistent with our values as a company.”
