New research suggests that the ‘Yes’ vote for the Australian same-sex marriage postal survey is ahead by “millions”.
The most recent Newspoll published by The Australian suggests that 59 percent of voters have ticked the ‘Yes’ box.
This week the Australian Bureau of Statistics announced that 10.8 million Australians have returned their ballots, which is approximately 67.5 percent of eligible voters.
According to the Newspoll, the ‘No’ campaign has 38 percent of the vote, it is estimated that if all the remaining eligible Australian voters sent in their ballot before the cut off date next week, three out of every four would have to vote ‘No’ for a win.
There is still just over 3 weeks until the official announcement is made on November 15.
