Perve Day Thursday: Jack Mackenroth

Jack Mackenroth starred on Project Runway and has talked openly about being HIV-positive for 17 years. He posed for these shots with photographer Frank Louis, and had this to say about working with Frank:
"Shooting with Frank was an amazing experience. As a model it's great to work with a photographer that has a relaxing quality and an air of confidence without arrogance. His ability to capture beautiful images without over-lighting or using post production effects is stunning. The images speak for themselves. The beauty is in their simplicity. On set I felt completely at ease because his demeanor is so warm and professional. I think that shows through in the final outcome."
As for Frank, he studied at The International Center for Photography in NYC and dabbled in modeling himself years ago and considers himself to be both a voyeur and an exhibitionist.
“I never ask a model to wear something that they don’t like, or they wouldn't wear normally," Frank told DNA. "I want them to feel comfortable; if they feel uncomfortable it will translate to the final image. I strive for authenticity. I want my images to look clean and simple without a lot of distraction. I ask my models to bring something that represents who they are; which could be anything from a piece of jewelry, to a favorite pair of jeans, to a killer smile”.
