Late Tuesday afternoon, Heatherette and their usual entourage of New York nightlife characters, porn and pop stars, socialites and drag queens piled into Gotham Hall in Manhattan and launched the Spring 2008 line with an Americana theme. The line up includes their signature pop club surrealist designs, of course, worn by some of the world’s hottest models and celebrities. Suffice it to say, this collection proved to be probably their most wearable yet.

Apart from the clothes though, the celebrities in attendance were also worth mentioning: the Scissor Sisters, Lance Bass, Jenna Jameson, Mya and then, at the last possible moment prior to commencement, P. Diddy walked down the runway with his entourage and sat in the front row, right next to Patrick McDonald – one of New York’s most notable dandies. The uber-male rapper thug was sitting next to the uber-fab glitter dandy and neither knew what to do. Diddy put his feet up on the runway and looked mean while McDonald crossed his legs and placed a delicate, jewel clad hand on his knee. Neither really looked at each other. Publicists and security went mad trying to stop the photographers from taking shots of Diddy (why the hell else was he there?) and Lady Bunny, in the meantime, was two rows behind them snapping pictures for herself and laughing hysterically. At the end, Amanda Lepore, Heatherette’s muse walked out and was then joined by Jenna Jameson, Richie Rich and Traver Raines.
