Bra Boys Turn A Profit

Speaking of Matt, Forbes Magazine have just named him Hollywood's best value star. In their Ultimate Star Payback list, published today, the mag rates stars by comparing the size of their paycheck to their films' average worldwide box office and DVD returns. Matt's movies return an average $29 million for every dollar he gets paid to act in them. Brad Pitt is second with $21 million, followed by Johnny Depp and Vince Vaughn on $20 million apiece.

Poorest value? Our own Russell Crowe, whose salary accounted for a third of the total budget of his last film, A Good Year. After a run of disappointing performers, Rusty's average is a paltry $5 million per film, making him the star that offers the lowest return against his salary.

Apparently, though, he narrated this year's Aussie surfing documentary, Bra Boys (pictured), for free. By grossing almost a million dollars at the local box office Bra Boys became the highest domestic-earning Australian documentary in history, which should pull Russell's value way up. Staring at and talking about muscly Sydney surfers all summer long has its rewards, as we know very well.
